ABR Trails - November 25
November 25 - We received about 4 inchs of new snow overnight. We are headed out to groom the trails. Skiing was very good yesterday after and during the new snow. We had to groom twice yesterday to keep up with the snow during and after the storm. We have about 35 km of tracks and 25 km of skate lanes. We have received 4-5 inches yesterday. The snow was a cold dry lake effect snow perfect to build the base. We had a solid 2-4 inch base last week but the new 6-8 inches of cold dry snow being groomed over the base put us back in very good shape this week

Indianhead Mountain - November 25
Indianhead is opened the season with Chippewa, the Beginner's Area and Voyager's Highway. More will open as weather permits! Major Lake Effect snow forecasted. Reduced lift rates in effect: Adult $29, Junior $21, Child/Senior $15 or ski 2 days for $40! -

Big Powderhorn - November 16
The First REAL Snowstorm!
It started Tuesday night and is still going strong 24 hours later. We didn't get a huge amount of snow but it looks like over 8 inches so far. Thats enough for us to start packing and trying to get the ground to freeze.

ABR Trails - November 16, 2005
We received about 15 inches of snow today and lastnight and have been out grooming all day. We groomed 38 of the 42 km of trail. It is 9 degrees and things are freezzing up well. We plan to open on this Friday. I am not sure how many km of trails will be open and how many km of of classic tracks will be set but stay tuned for the report on Thursday. Sulo's Loop and some of Marsh trails have wet spots that will need cold temps and more snow to be skiable will keep you posted we have hopes of opening for the weekend. It is deer season in Michigan but we are on posted land where deer hunting is not allowed.

ABR Trails - November 14, 2005
We got our first significant snowfall. I measured 3 inches but I am sure more snow fell. The ground is still warm and we have melting from below. We will start grooming Monday, weather permitting, to freeze the trail base, with hopes of opening for the weekend.

Indianhead Mountain - November 14, 2005
Big Snow Alert! 6-12 inches by Wednesday!
Indianhead received 2 inches on Sunday and is forecasted to receive 6-12 inches by Wednesday. We will make snow Tuesday throughout the week. We are still anticipating a Thanksgiving opening! Stay tuned!

Big Powderhorn - March 22
Spring Break Fun! --- Last weekend we enjoyed Spring Carnival and this coming weekend is Easter at BPM. The weather is Fantastic! We're finally getting some warm and sunny spring weather. The days are getting well into the 30's with lots of sun (bring your sunglasses). Night time temps are in the teens which is great for grooming. Conditions are great and we've got lots of fun scheduled for this weekend so come on up and join us! 03/22 - Having fun in Powderkeg Park. Put a little air under your skis.

Big Powderhorn - March 19
Spring Fun! --- This weekend we are enjoying Spring Carnival at BPM. The weather is nice - around 30 during the day with mixed sun and clouds. We haven't started to see the real warm temps yet which means that the snow conditions are staying in the excellent catagory. We had a lot of fun with the Saturday crowd - come on up and join us! (Photo Taken 03/19) - Those crazy castaways were very popular this year.

ABR Trails - March 17
Frost at daybreak --- The skiing has been super. We have been skiing daily on blue kick wax at 6 PM, no icing, just dry powder, the snowfalls have been 1 inch at a time for great skiing. The River House and Hilltop House are open for Friday and Saturday, call for last minute discount rates. The ABR Spring Race, this Sunday morning, is on. Big Powderhorn - March 12
Great Conditions! --- This is the time of year when people start talking about spring skiing. That usually brings up images of corn snow and slush but that isn't the case here! We've had a LOT of snow in March and more is in the forecast this week. The conditions are literally as good as you would expect in February but the days are a bit longer and the sun feels warmer on your face. If you have the time, come up and enjoy some of the best skiing this season has to offer.
